This line of work is conceived as a contribution towards the construction of a social State, under the rule of law, by strengthening civil society’s involvement in public policies.

Esquel has decided to take up the challenge of breaking away from the circle of traditional perceptions and attitudes that prevail among the Ecuadorian society regarding philanthropy, considered as mere generosity from the “haves” towards the “have not” and defined as charity, gift, aid or assistance.

We have been working for over 15 years in local economic development initiatives, creating our own tools, strategies and methodologies. These initiatives are the backbone of our projects and a valuable learning experience that has shaped and enriched our own vision of local economic development in Ecuador.
