Since 1990, Esquel has contributed to the formulation of an alternative model of development.

Esquel is a private non-profit civil society organization that deeply believes in the people and their capacity to build their own future.

Every year we are subject to evaluations by our partners and international auditors; these results are published in media with national coverage and this is also made available on our webpage.

Our organization has financed and co-executed projects through technical assistance, non-reimbursable resources, credits, shared capital investments and rotary funds.

Since its inception, Esquel has closely followed the complex political, economic and social processes the country has lived through. It has done so, not only from a mere observer’s point of view but rather, and mainly, as a concerned stakeholder.

Esquel believes that words can be convincing and even motivating but, above all, it is aware that life testimonies are effective arguments and action triggers.

People working for Esquel share a basic goal geared towards the achievement of change in multiple dimensions of the Ecuadorian reality and guided by a philosophic vision based upon democratic principles.
